If you are a resident of Barnstable, Dukes, or Nantucket counties in Massachusetts, and your home is insured by Chartis, you now have access to the company’s Hurricane Protection Unit (HPU).

The HPU helps policyholders prepare for a hurricane and assists with repairs in the storm’s aftermath. HPU personnel develop personalized hurricane preparedness plans for Chartis policyholders, monitor hurricane activity, and stay in touch with policyholders regarding the status of their property in the event they are evacuated.

The HPU web page explains the unit’s operations in more detail and contains an enrollment form. There is no cost for HPU services, but Chartis policyholders must enroll to take advantage of the program.
